Explain to a Caveman is a study tool that breaks down AP Human Geography concepts in the voice of fun characters to add a little flair to your studying. Study mode helps describe hard concepts in a clean study guide format, if a caveman's explanation isn't your vibe. Pick a concept, pick a character, and the page generates an exam-aligned explanation using the official College Board CED and tons of past classwork and case studies.
How to use it
six steps, zero hassle- Pick a concept from the dropdown (organized by unit), or type your own under "Custom" if it isn't in our catalog.
- Pick a character for the voice you want the explanation in (caveman is the best 😉).
- Click Explain it! — the response includes a real-world example you can reference on the unit tests or AP exam.
- Switch to Study Mode for a neutral definition, real world significance, and an example breakdown when you need a clear explanation.
- Use Surprise me for a random concept/character combo.
- Use ↻ to reset everything. No hassle!

who + what🧑🎓 About the creator
This tool was built by Laitham Ghosheh (class of '29) as an AP Human Geography class project toward the end of the 2025-26 school year. The tool started as just an idea: "what if you could have any fun or fictional character explain anything to you?" That simple question lead to the creation of this whole site, including the text you're reading right now!
🛠️ Involved Tech
- Anthropic Claude API generates the explanations (model:
claude-haiku-4-5-20251001). - Vercel hosts the static frontend and the serverless function that tells Claude what to generate.
- Plain HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (assisted by Claude Code)
- Class materials such as the official College Board CED, past students' review notes, and the class case studies bank ground every response so answers match what's tested in-class and on the AP exam.
